| The following is one of many poems our students write. Poetry provides an educational as well as therapeutic activity for students. This poem was written by a student as a tribute to one of our teachers at Louisville Day Treatment. Coincidence Was it by coincidence, Either does not matter, I hope you’ve learned as much as I have, You have taught me so very much, This is no time for grieving, L.D. |
| Students at Louisville Day Treatment learn from doing a variety of projects. Ms. Gibson’s math students test the strength of the bridges they made. |

| A variety of programs and services are offered to youth ages 12-18. Students have the opportunity to participate in group and individual therapy, a Title I Reading Program, a GED preparatory program, computer lab, health and physical education, in-depth vocational assessments, on-going service learning projects, and a high school diploma curriculum for regular and special education students. Some students qualify for the Extended Day Program. This program targets the serious offender between the ages of 13-18 who requires intensive supervision and aftercare services. The primary mission of this program is to provide a structured environment extending beyond the regular school day until 7:00 in the evening. These students have the opportunity to participate in the programs at the Jefferson Community Technical College three days a week.
Louisville Day Treatment’s curriculum is enhanced each year by Junior Achievement, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, field trips, the Meadowview Nursing Home Project, and the annual statewide Day Treatment Basketball Tournament. These activities and programs, combined with a caring, professional staff, offer students a new opportunity for growth and change.
In a gesture of appreciation, Louisville Day Treatment students and staff donated baskets of food to the Lyndon Fire Department and made a contribution to their favorite charity on September 11, 2002.
