In order to graduate and receive a high school diploma from the Jefferson County Public Schools, a student must achieve each of the following:

- Complete the state-required 22 credits. - Score Apprentice or higher on the state Reading Assessment. - Score Apprentice or higher on the state Math Assessment. - Score Apprentice or higher on the Writing Portfolio as scored by JCPS staff.

Required course credits
Language arts : 4 credits Social Studies : 3 credits Mathematics : 3 credits Science : 3 credits Health : 1/2 credits Physical Education : 1/2 credits History and Appreciation of Visual & Performing Arts : 1 credits Total ( 15 required credits plus 7 electives ) : 22 credits
Liberty Requirements
1) Complete Discovery. (See DISCOVERY link for more info.) 2) Pass the Senior Research Project. (The student will pick a topic of their choice and they will research the topic for nine weeks. Their topic will be presented at the end of the nine weeks by a minimum of a 15 minute presentation.) 3) And Complete All the rest above. |
