In the Technology course we use different software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, and JCPS online, to learn about Arts & Humanities. All student assignments and announcements are posted in JCPS online. During a typical class the students will begin by keyboarding for ten minutes. After that they log in to JCPS online, which is a closed environment accessible by Jefferson County teachers, students, parents, and staff. Once in JCPS online, the students go to the calendar and check for announcements and assignments. Students typically have instructions or a tutorial about each assignment. They then have to read the included information and create the expected product or complete the quiz. There are basic lessons covering technology expectations, Visual Art, Music, Dance and Drama. Due to scheduling issues, Technology is available only to the 8th grade at this time.
