The primary goal of the Family Resource (Elementary Schools) and Youth Services (Middle and High Schools) Centers is to remove non-cognitive barriers to students' learning. The centers are designed to promote the flow of resources and support to families in ways that strengthen the functioning and enhance the growth and development of the individual members of the family units. Youth Services Centers are state mandated to provide the five components listed below. Under each component is listed some of the specific programs and services that are offered through Noe's Youth Services Center.
- Referrals to community clothes closets
- Referrals to Family Health Centers and other health agencies
- Referrals to Neighborhood Place
- Immunization information
- Assistance in obtaining eyeglasses
- Scoliosis screening
- Assisting families with housing issues
- Host 4-H Reality Store or the JA Finance Park
- Provide information on Career Speakers
- Provide information on the availability of Summer Job Opportunities
- Referrals to community agencies
- Provide referrals for the C.H.O.I.C.E. drug prevention program
- "Risky Business" Drinking and driving safety seminars (U of L Hospital)
- In-house individual and group counseling (Seven Counties, Louisville Seminary Counseling Ministries, Peace Education)
- Mentoring (U of L's Kent School of Social Work)
- Referrals to local community agencies
- Absenteeism/Tardy follow-up (as a part of the school's attendance plan)
- Academic and participation incentives
- "Cougar Awards" - End of the Year Student Recognition
- Family Reading Nights (in collaboration with PTSA)
- Field Hockey
- Referrals to Stars Club
- Parent Newsletter--Paw Prints
- Sixth Grade Summer Transition Program
