Membership

Thank you to all of our PTSA members, your support is greatly appreciated. We have 277 members now and it’s never too late to join! January 16^th is our next dress down day for students who are members! Join by February 25^th to participate in our next classroom contest! Each homeroom class that reaches 100% participation will receive a donut part on Friday, February 27th. Ms Gausepohl received a gift card for winning the contest for the staff member with the most memberships. She had 22 people sign up! The student with the most memberships towards the end of the school year will also receive a gift card. If you have joined the PTSA and not yet received your membership card, please let us know so we can get one to you. You can use this card to receive special discounts at various retailers.

Volunteers

We would also like to thank all of our parents who have volunteered their time and supported the PTSA in various events so far this year - Jane Jeffries, Margaret Casey, Ann Craw, Yvonne Carroll, and Stacie Dzan. We couldn’t have done it without you all!

SBDM Election

As you know, due to possible hazardous road conditions, December’s Holiday Concert & PTSA General Body Meeting was cancelled. We will have another General Body meeting on May 12. SBDM election forms were sent home for parents to vote for the open parent representative position. Please bring in your ballot to the school by January 16^th. Results will be announced soon.

“Show You CARE” Holiday Fair

The students loved the Holiday Fair this year! We had a lot of students come in and buy gifts for their family and friends. We had students that thanked us and were very appreciative. It made us realize even more what a great group of young adults we have at Carrithers! We sold $1,258 worth of items! The PTSA did profit $122. As you know we did not do this to make money, we wanted to do it as a service to the students. So, this money immediately went back to the students on December 19^th in the form of a special treat at lunch to celebrate the Holidays! Congratulations to Rashad Cyphers and Jacob Murphy, they each won a $10 gift certificate to shop at the Holiday Fair!

Reminders

Carrithers Every 1 Reads Program is in need of new or slightly used books; please send in any books that you feel would be appropriate for middle school aged students. Carrithers YSC clothing drive, please send in any clothes your children are outgrowing to the school office, especially any uniforms. Thank you to everyone that has already sent in clothes or and/or books, they are greatly appreciated.
