Welcome to the 2009/2010 school year at Carrithers! We hope everyone had a great summer! We are excited and hopeful for another fun and successful year! We would like to welcome Kristen McCall, our new 7^th grade science teacher, and Jennifer Slaten, our new interim assistant principal to Carrithers this year! We are excited to have you both with us! We would also like to send best wishes to Ms. Gray, Ms. Rucker, Mr. Drewitz and Mr. Hazilip; we’ll miss you and good luck to you all!

Membership

We had a record number of 286 members last school year and had 100% teacher participation! Our goal this year is 300 members! Joining the PTSA is an easy way to support your school. It only costs $5 per person and will help fund many programs and events that will benefit all students! Students are encouraged to join as well as family members. We will have many gift card drawings and team contests for those that are members during the school year. Students who are members will get to participate in special PTSA dress down days! You can also use your membership card to receive discounts at various retailers. Envelopes are available at the PTSA table during registration day, Open House and all year long in the school office. Thanks to everyone for their support.

Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser will begin August 25. We are trying something new this year! We will be selling pre-portioned frozen Cookie Dough! A huge amount of PTSA funds comes from this fundraiser; please help us make this a success! We will have incentives for students and teams that sell the most cookie dough including, cash, prizes, and a limo ride!

Carrithers Decals

Show your school spirit! Brand new Carrithers decals are on sale now for $1.00. You can purchase them at the PTSA table on Registration Day and Open House. Order forms are also available in the school office. Send in money and order form to the school and we will deliver them to your student’s class as soon as possible!

PTSA General Body Meeting - 8/18-5:45pm Please join us! We will discuss our goals for Membership, Fundraising, parent involvement and communication this year. Open House will immediately follow. Reminders

Our Every1Reads Program is in need of new or slightly used books; please send in any books that you feel would be appropriate for middle school aged students. The CMS YSC is always in need of clothes, especially uniforms and belts. These items go directly to Carrithers students who need them. We participate in programs with both Office Depot and Target.
