Computer arts & science Placement

There will be three math diagnostic and technology placement dates during the summer of 2010 (pre-registration required):

Wednesday, June 2 – 10:30 to 12:30 PM
Wednesday, June 9 – 10:30 to 12:30 PM
Wednesday, August 4 – 10:30 to 12:30
PM

The Accelerated Math Placement runs from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on the same date as the Technology test dates.

 

Student Using Computer 1Why take the test?
All students at Eastern High School are required by SBDM policy to take two technology classes. They cannot move to advanced levels of technology courses until they take Computer Arts and Sciences I & II or Advanced Computer Applications (IC3).

Are you a talented technology student?
Are you a student who would like to test out of Computer Arts and Science I and already know most of the essential skills of the computer?

You must be able to:
Have a general understanding of Computing Fundamentals and Key Applications. This link will give you information about what is on the placement test.

Student Using Computer 2The Benefit
This exhibition will be provided in the form of a Technology Advanced Placement Exam. Those who pass this exam will advance to the IC3 course and will begin their major area courses in the 10th grade!

The Exam
The exam will be administered on the same dates as the Math Entrance Exam. The test will take approximately two hours to complete. There is no pre-registration for the math test.
