Eastern’s
National Honor Society includes students with outstanding academic
records, who are involved in many volunteer activities that all
benefit Eastern High School.
Their biggest and most well-known project is, of course, the
Holiday Care-a-Van. Throughout the three weeks between Thanksgiving
and Winter break, Eastern students donate spare change and canned
goods to NHS, whose members then count and sort everything collected.
This year's winners were the Sophomores, who with the motivation
of teachers like Ms. Pope and Mr. Quirk, raised more then any
other class.
Once separated into baskets, the food is then delivered to
the needy families in our area, by seniors on the last day of
school before winter break.
