Eastern
High School recognizes that your child's education is a responsibility
shared by the school and family during the entire period the child
spends in school. To support the goal of the school to educate
all students effectively, the schools and parents must work as
knowledgeable partners.
Research shows that when parents are involved in students'
education, those students generally have higher grades and test
scores, better attendance, and more consistently completed homework.
Communication between home and school is regular, two-way, and
meaningful. Monitor your child's progress. Don't be afraid to
ask for a parent-teacher conference or progress updates in between
report cards, parents play an integral role in assisting student
learning.
Parents are welcome in the school, and their support and assistance
are sought. Help shape the environment your child lives in most
of the day.
Parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children
and families. Serve on a advisory council, run for SBDM or PTSA.
Community resources are made available to strengthen school
programs, family practices, and student learning. As you become
more involved in their student's education, teachers find their
jobs become easier, businesses inherit a more capable workforce,
and your students become more productive.
We all win.
