The Kentucky Derby is the oldest sporting event in the country and Louisville is proud to celebrate it year after year. As a school unique to Louisville, Eastern carries on its own wonderful tradition of the ‘Little Kentucky Derby.' However, unlike the Derby we don’t race horses, we race against each other and bet on ourselves to win!

Each year the classes battle it out to see who will end up on top. During a series of relays, participants spin around bats until dizzy, put on oversized clothes & gloves, chew gum, run around on big wheels, and try their very hardest to make big fools of themselves. Fools or not, anyone participating in the event will tell you that it is a fun way to support your school and your class.
