Diploma Requirements Students must: Meet the minimum requirements of the KDE Program of Studies, which are 22 credits (23 for the class of 2012 and beyond). Score apprentice, proficient, or distinguished level in reading on the CATS assessment. Score apprentice, proficient, or distinguished level in mathematics on the CATS assessment. Score apprentice, proficient, or distinguished level on the writing portfolio. Complete the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) each year. (Quick Sheet) PRE-COLLEGE CURRICULUM The Kentucky Council of Higher Education has adopted the minimum requirements listed below for unconditional admission to the public universities in the state. ADVANCE PROGRAM For those students who qualify through JCPS, the Advance Program offers the opportunity to follow a stimulating curriculum designed for the academically gifted. A minimum of 12 credits must be earned in Advanced Program classes in at least three of the following areas – English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language. Advanced Humanities is also required for the Advance Program. Students are required to take a minimum of three Advance Program classes per semester. Advanced Placement classes also satisfy this requirement. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) is required to remain in the program. Students must also fulfill all of the diploma requirements (see next page) in order to graduate.
