The Young Democrats mobilize Eastern students to participate in the electoral process, influence the ideals of the Democratic Party and develop the skills as leaders from the school to the national level. The goal of the Young Democrats is to increase the number of young people voting for Democrats and to support the Democratic Party.

The group also seeks to increase political awareness with their peers by discussion, making signs, and making shirts. Mrs. Sauer and Mrs. Poore are the sponsors of the young democrats. They meet on Wednesday in room 142.
