Eastern
High School's technology program is rated as one of the best in
the state of Kentucky, as well as in the country. Eastern is the
only school in Jefferson County that requires students to take
a minimum of two years of a technology course to graduate.
After students take their two years of technology they can
opt to take a variety of elective courses including: web and
graphic design, newspaper, yearbook, and A+ certification.
Incoming Freshmen may also be able to test out of CAS I. By
exhibiting mastery at hardware, software and the Internet,
a student may jump into the Advanced Internet and Computing Core Curriculum (IC3) as their introduction course.
Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) is also a very
important part of the success of Eastern's technology program.
STLP is a project learning program that empowers students at
Eastern to use technology in and out of the classroom.
Eastern has 17 computer labs, 16 Business and Inforamtion Technology teachers
and over 400 networked computers.
