Mens B-ball TeamThe 2011-12 Eastern Eagles will have many new faces in the line-up in hopes of extending their school record of consecutive 20-win seasons to seven.  Last season saw the Eagles enjoy what some could consider the best campaign in school history, finishing with a 33-3 record against the toughest schedule in the state.  Along the way they collected a runner-up finish in the King of the Bluegrass and championships in both the prestigious Jr. Orange Bowl Classic and LIT before capturing the 7th Region crown with a resounding 73-51 win over Jeffersontown. The Eagles continued their impressive postseason run by knocking off Top 5 teams Warren Central and Clark Co. to advance to the Final Four before seeing their State Championship dream derailed in a 46-43 heartbreaking loss to Christian Co. Lost to graduation were 9 seniors that included 4 Kentucky All-Stars: Remy Abell, Lyonell Gaines, Arman Marks and Kameron Woods and solid contributors Jonny Clements, Jon Davis, Dominique Garmon, Byron Sanford and Chris Taylor.

Leading the way for the Eagles this season will be preseason All-Region selection Percy Blade along with two-year letterman Tyrell Corlew. Three other seniors that were a part of last year’s Final Four team, Michael Davis, Chris Hill and Tyler Huff will also give major production.  New faces that will be called on early are Juniors Jocari Beattie and Mont Hassell along with Sophomore Austin Howard.  Rounding out the key contributors are Senior Mitchell McMonigle, Junior Aaron Mathews and Sophomore Christopher Davis.  The Eagles will once again face one of the toughest schedules in the state that includes trips to the King of the Bluegrass and the Bay Barnstorm Classic in Panama City, Florida. The season starts at Atherton on Nov. 29th with the first home game against KCD on Dec. 3rd.  Come out and support your Eagles!
