Principal Report: Mr. Bodine wanted to thank the PTA for the technology purchases for this year. There are two smart boards being used in classrooms, Ms. Kaelin and Ms. Vowels. Mr. Bodine mentioned that anyone who would like to see how they work are more than welcome to stop in Ms. Kaelin’s classroom to watch. All classroom projectors were mounted, also with the PTA funds given last year. Mr. Bodine would like to make sure that everyone promote the upcoming walk-a-thon, this will be our big fundraiser for the year, and will go towards technology. Mr. Bodine also thanked everyone for the orientation; the setup was changed and seemed to go very smoothly. Mr. Bodine mentioned that the enrollment has been high and that there is a possibility of adding classrooms. The question was brought up at the meeting, “Are we adding help for the overage of children?” Mr. Bodine mentioned that the teachers would be deciding if they want to add a staff member or take extra money. Mr. Bodine talked about the new Care for Kids program. This program was created to promote and develop social responsibility and positive relationships for your child with classmates and adults. Through this program, if a child is selected for the student of the month, they will in turn get to eat doughnuts with Mr. Bodine.
Counselor Report: Mr. Finnegan was unable to attend.

Walk-A-Thon: Wilder’s first ever walk-a-thon fundraiser on September 23. Caryl Hemmer and Tina McCorkle are chairing this event. Tina was present at the meeting to let everyone know about the walk. Tina mentioned that there would be a DJ while the children are walking along with treats and refreshments. The children are asked to try to get pledges according to how many laps that are made. There will be a Pep Rally on September 11 to get the children excited about the walk. Volunteers are needed, so please contact either Caryl or Tina. If you are not able to volunteer, come out and help cheer on the walkers. Any kind of support is great. In addition, all children and staff members will receive a free walk-a-thon t-shirt.
