Family Resource Centers were started in Kentucky schools as a part of KERA (the Kentucky Education Reform Act) in the early 1990's. This is the second year that Tully has had a Family Resource Center. Our primary mission is to help students succeed in school and reduce barriers to learning.

Some of our projects and activities during the 2008-2009 school year will include:

• Assistance with after-school programs to provide enriching activities for students during non-school hours
• Health care referrals, to help students meet school health requirements
• School-based counseling/therapy through Seven Counties Services
• Parent Workshops (in collaboration with other area Family Resource Centers) dealing with issues of common concern to parents, such as discipline and help with schoolwork
• Programs to provide enrichment for students during school hours
• Assistance in dealing with attendance problems
• Assistance in locating appropriate child care, for school-age or pre-school children
• Programs for new and expectant parents
• Support and training for child-care providers
• Most important, we are here to assist students and families on any issues that might arise during the year
