School Profile

Okolona Elementary is set up just like today’s elementary schools should be according to the Kentucky Education Reform Act. The building is open and spacious, allowing team teaching and multiage groups to work together. Okolona focuses on the arts and humanities and technology. This Child Development Project school offers an innovative Electronic Music Program that gives students a chance to be participants in the cultural arts, not just observers. Families are encouraged to join the school community through an active PTA, the School-Based Decision Making Council, and the Family Resource Center. Okolona offers Early Childhood Jump Start programs for four-year-olds and Extended School Services.
