Welcome to Jeffersontown Elementary School! Serving the Jeffersontown community since 1974, our school is serious about preparing students for future success, in and out of the classroom! As a result, our students exhibit high levels of achievement, as well as positive growth in their social and emotional behaviors and attitudes.
At Jeffersontown, all students from Preschool through Grade Five study the JCPS Core Content areas -- reading, writing, mathematics, science, arts and humanities, practical living, and social studies. In addition, students receive weekly instruction in visual/fine arts and computer technology. A full-time librarian teaches library skills and promotes reading as an enjoyable activity. Because our student population is diverse, speech-therapy classes, Learning Disability Resource classes, and classes for students with multiple disabilities are provided for students in need of those services.
