School Profile

Jeffersontown Elementary has serviced the Jeffersontown community since 1974. Jeffersontown Elementary is a comprehensive school offering students a wide variety of educational opportunities in a structured learning environment. All students study the JCPS Core-Content areas and can participate in many outstanding academic programs. Students can use an Internet-accessible computer in classrooms as well as in the technologically advance computer lab. Our school recently became a “wireless” school.

The Extended School Services (ESS) Program and English as a Second Language (ESL) help to support small-group instructions to improve reading, writing and language skills. The Honors Program provides students with activities that expand knowledge and other opportunities to learn. Jeffersontown also offers Tuition Based Pre-School for three and four year-olds as well as Pre-Kindergarten morning and afternoon sessions. Please contact Early Childhood Office at 485-3640 for more information. The YMCA has before and after school child-care services. This Health Promotion School of Excellence has a “Helping Hands” Family Resource Center and asks parents to be involved with the School-Based Decision Making Council (SBDM). The PTA produces monthly assemblies and programs for our students.
