MISSION
The mission of the Frayser School Library Media Program is:
1. To challenge students to become lifelong learners while understanding the value of all libraries including school and public.
2. To provide instruction to students and staff that will help them become effective users of the resources in the Media Center.
3. To stimulate the students' interest in and awareness of reading a variety of types of literature.
4. To collaborate with other school staff to design learning strategies that supports the curriculum.
5. To develop an up-to-date library collection that supports the J.C.P.S. core curriculum while also providing for students' interests and educational needs.
LIBRARY HOURS
9:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (M - F)
CHECKOUT POLICY (Faculty)
Frayser staff may check out books whenever they need them. They may choose the books for themselves or ask the media specialist to select the materials for them.
CHECKOUT POLICY (Students)
Students in Kindergarten may check out one book at a time.
Students in grades 1 through 5 may check out two books.
Classroom teachers determine if students are allowed to take books home.
Loan periods:
Students in grades K through 5 check out their books for a period of two weeks.
A book may be renewed if the student is not yet finished with it by the due date, unless others are waiting to check it out.
Students must return overdue books before additional books may be checked out.

- Follow directions the first time they are given

- Think before you act
Demonstrate good school and library citizenship:
- Enter and leave the library in a quiet line
- Use quiet voices at ALL times unless the librarian tells you otherwise
- Do not bully or say mean things to others
- Do not do unsafe things (example: lean in a chair)
- Raise your hand when you wish to speak
- Take care of all library materials (example: keep them clean and not in a place where they can be
damaged or lost)
- Return books promptly so that you can continue to check out books
- Treat the library as the special place it is--a quiet, learning place
Consequences
The consequences may result in having to notify your teacher, parents, Mrs. Daniels, Mrs. Cobb or Mrs. Durham. You may lose the privilege of checking out books or lose some other privilege.
