Lunch Information
The cafeteria serves all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch, which can be purchased daily. Monthly menus are distributed to students and can be found by clicking on the Lunch Menu icon.
Students are assigned a 4-digit lunchroom ID number, which must be memorized. The student tells the cashier the number as he or she exits the line. The number is entered into the computer system, and the student’s lunch account is reduced by the cost of the lunch.
Prepayment by cash or check can be made to a student’s account. Place the payment in an envelope, and send it to school with your child. Please write your child’s name and homeroom teacher on the envelope.
À la carte items (e.g., baked chips, juice drinks) can be purchased from prepaid accounts only if a note has been signed by a parent/guardian giving permission. (Form is located on the Dunn Web site). There is a limit of two à la carte items. All other à la carte items must be paid for with cash. If a student does not have enough in his or her account for lunch, he or she may charge that day. The manager will then send a note home explaining that more money is needed for the account.
Free or reduced-price meals are available to students who qualify based on USDA guidelines. A new application must be completed every school year. These applications are mailed to every student. They are also available from the school office.
Parents are always welcome guests during lunch. We do request, however, that parents do not bring in lunches from fast food restaurants to be eaten in front of other students.
NOTE: According to FDA law, soft drinks and/or carry-out lunches from restaurants are not permitted in school.

Lunch includes one meat/meat alternate, two fruits and/or vegetable, one bread/grain, and one milk. Students may decline one or two of these items.
