We, the faculty, parents and students of Gavin H. Cochran Elementary School, believe that every child is entitled to a school program built upon democratic principles. Consistent with these principles is the recognition and acceptance of individual differences throughout the school program.
Cochran Elementary School has a commitment to the physical, mental, and cultural development of children which is necessary for their present and future well-being. This commitment extends to helping the child achieve an awareness and appreciation of his/her self-worth and esteem. We believe that with feelings of self-worth and exposure to multi-cultural experiences, we will enhance the child's appreciation of the worth and value of others.
We believe in the shared responsibility of the school, home and community. Our unique situation is the foundation for out programs. Acknowledging the promise that learning is an on-going process, we wish to sustain and nourish an inquiring and confident curiosity capable of learning independently.
We commit ourselves to fulfilling the above- thereby strengthening our school, community and nation.
