The LINK FRYSC is the Family Resource Center (FRC) that serves Cochran Elementary and Jefferson County Traditional Middle School as a Youth Service Center (YSC). Family Resource Centers and Youth Service Centers came about as a part of KERA (Kentucky Education Reform Act) in 1991. Our goal is to assist students and their families in removing barriers to education. We do this by linking families with community resources that assist in times of crisis. We also assist students on a daily basis by providing school supplies, backpack and replacement clothing as needed. Parents can call the center and schedule appointments at the clothes closet or get referrals for assistance with health related issues.
The FRC and YSC also collaborate with faculty and staff to provide education and fun opportunities for our families. We work to keep them informed about what is happening at school and we give them different activities to help strengthen the bonds in their family.
The LINK FRYSC is open 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday with evening appointments available upon request. Please call the Coordinator, Sue Wagner, or Clerk, Dottie Grieshaber, if The LINK FRYSC can assist you.
