Michael Alexander, Principal
A little about myself:
I have dedicated my life to serving the students of Jefferson County Public Schools for the last fifteen years. From 1997-2003, I was an English teacher at Louisville Male Traditional High School. I then worked as an administrative intern at Iroquois High School during the 2003-2004 school year. Fairdale High School was my next destination where I served as an assistant principal from 2004-2006. After two years at Fairdale, I was offered the opportunity to learn the elementary school setting as an elementary principal intern at Klondike Lane Elementary School in 2006-2007. I have spent the last five years as principal at Sara B. Wellington Elementary School.
I have a very clear understanding of the high level of expectations of the traditional program. It is my goal that our students receive an education here at Carter that is of the highest quality and a solid foundation that will prepare them to succeed in a changing world that will demand more of them intellectually. Our children deserve no less than the very best.
I pledge my commitment to follow and enforce the policies and procedures of Jefferson County Public Schools and Carter’s SBDM Council. I also vow to you that I will work diligently to both uphold and enhance the tradition of excellence already established here at Carter.
Please know that I am here to assist you in any way I can. I look forward to meeting and working with you to ensure Carter remains one of the best schools in Jefferson County.
