Bowen is a lively place - there's always something special going on!
If it enriches learning, involves families, or goes beyond our school walls,
you'll find out about it here @Bowen.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign in schools to prevent drug and alcohol abuse. Filled with learning activities about the dangers of misusing drugs and alcohol, the annual October observance also shows students the advantages of a healthy lifestyle. Like many things at Bowen Elementary, we take Red Ribbon Week to the extreme with contests, dress up days and a whole lot fun! We wear crazy socks, crazy hair, crazy clothes, and even our pajama to school to show that we can have a great time without drugs and alcohol in our lives.

Field Day 2009

Teacher Notes: On September 18th, Bowen conducted their annual fun loving field day. Every student had the opportunity to run their fastest, jump the longest, climb their highest and laugh a lot during the course of the day. A few of the activities included balloon burst, parachute blast, 3-legged race, Bowen putt-putt, tug-of-war and a huge inflatable obstacle course. One of the favorites was of course the refreshing snow cone station - everyone left with a beautiful blue mouth! Thanks for the support from our fantastic PTA, our fabulous parents and volunteers, our super teachers and our great students. - Mrs. Gibson, P.E. Teacher
