Family Resource Center

Karen Park

The Family Resource Center (FRC) of Bloom is shared with Hawthorne Elementary. It is here to provide support to families and students to enhance children's success in school. The Family Resource Center does this by linking families with community agencies and resources that will enrich the lives of children and families in our community. The Family Resource Centers serve one or more elementary schools (children under 12 years of age). The following are core components:

* Preschool child care for children two and three years of age
* After-school child care
* Families in training
* Parent and child education
* Support and training for child daycare providers
* Health services or referrals to health services

On this page you will find various activities that the Family Resource Center is sponsoring for students and their families. You will also find helpful information on free programs, health services, and training for child care providers offered in the community. If I can help in any way, please give me a call, or better yet, stop by and see me. My office is located in the portable at Bloom and in room 15 at Hawthorne. I look forward to seeing you soon!

From the Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSCs) Parents Wanted!

The Bloom/Hawthorne Family Resource Center Advisory Council is looking for parent representatives from Bloom Elementary School to serve on our council for this year. The Family Resource Center provides support to the families of our students in an effort to enhance student success in school. This is done by linking families with community agencies and resources that will enrich the lives of children and parents in our community. Learn more about what you can do to support your students through the FRC!

The Tutoring Learning Center (TLC) programs serve students in grade 1-12. Please be informed that most Coordinators are Certified Elementary Teachers, therefore, services to middle and high school students may be limited. Students must have already attended 1st grade to attend.

The TLC program is a first come first serve basis. The sessions for each child are between 45 minutes to 1-hour in length. The TLC Coordinator will call you after registration to inform you of your child's assigned tutoring session. If you do not hear from the coordinator please go back to the registration site on Monday for information. You must adhere to your assigned time schedule. PLEASE do not call the TLC Office for a schedule. All schedules are developed and kept at the local TLC site. Please bring your child's folder for reference. Please choose the TLC site from the listing on the right. You must go to the site at the times indicated on the listed registration dates to enroll your child.
