Principal Rina Gratz |
My name is Rina Gratz and it is my honor to be the new principal of Wilkerson Elementary. Joining a wonderful school community like Wilkerson is a dream come true and I look forward to getting to know each one of you. My goal is to support the families, students, faculty, and staff and work alongside everyone to enhance the teaching and learning of our students. Wilkerson has all the right ingredients to become one of the top performing schools in the state. Together we can reach this goal through shared commitment and teamwork.
This year marks my twentieth year in education, having previously served in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, district priority schools manager, principal intern, state Title III director, curriculum consultant and achievement gap coordinator with the Kentucky Department of Education. Throughout my educational journey, I have seen time and again that each individual can truly make a difference in the lives of others. Every action, every word and every attitude has the potential to make a positive difference in a child’s educational experience. I believe that a strong foundation of trusting relationships goes hand in hand with strategic goals, planning and monitoring to foster a successful school. With a “can do” attitude and authentic partnerships, we can ensure a culture of caring, accountability and high expectations for all.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the students, families and staff at Wilkerson Elementary. Like a vibrant quilt, we are woven together into this school community, where high standards and excellence are both a tradition and an expectation. Each of us has something to contribute individually, but our strength comes from working together in the same direction.
The faculty and staff here stand ready to support you in any way we can.
