Principal's Message
Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School is a place "Where Dreams Come True." It is also a true place of diversity--where all students of color, economic status, academic ability, and talent are embraced and respected by all staff members.
My dream for the students is for them to be and do their very best in everything that they are engaged in, regardless of their circumstances. If they do that, then I know that they will be able to make it through anything.
My dream for the parents is to lead your children in the right direction, regardless of the cost. That means not letting them have their way, but being there for them and supporting them when it is necessary and needed. If that is done, then they will always know what to do and what is expected.
My dream for the staff is to always remember to keep students first, no matter what. Teachers should ask themselves, "How is this going to help my students?" If they can't answer that question, then they should seek a different approach.
My dream is to be the best principal to students, parents, and staff. I will listen to them, be there for them, and seriously consider all things carefully before giving advice or answering questions. If I can do that, then the students, parents, and staff will know that I care about them and that I respect and value what they do and say.
