Community Service

Fern Creek Elementary School students, parents, and teachers are very active in the community. Charities supported are the United Way, Crusade for Children, Fund for the Arts, Red Cross, United Negro Fund, and Kentucky Harvest. Students do service learning through Student Council, Beta Club and other classroom opportunities. Partnerships have included nursing homes, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Armed Services. Often grants have been written and donations raised to support the goals and activities of on-going community services. Our students learn by doing and giving that they are an important part of the larger community and our world. Each of us have responsibilities to care for others and are made stronger as we unite to make our world a better place for all.
