Welcome to Student Development Services

It is our mission to help students become responsible, productive adults in a democratic society.  In doing so, we provide support to the district and local schools as they help address the academic, social, emotional, and ethical needs of our students.  Student Development Services has evolved over the years and originally oversaw the Child Development Project.  Our efforts have grown over time and now encompass a Pre K through grade 12 approach.  This initiative is now known as CARE for KIDS.  The CARE for KIDS approach helps students develop social responsibility and works on building positive relationships with both adults and other classmates while creating a caring learning community.  The ultimate goal is to create a learning climate where students can perform their best both academically and socially.  Proactive social and emotional learning strategies are embedded throughout the school day in all academic classes in order to create an environment that is focused on student academic achievement. 

As a partner with parents, students, schools and the greater community, we look forward to assisting and providing professional development and best practice around student developmental needs.
