School Profile
Churchill Park School is a unique school that serves a variety of students.
Our Early Childhood Program, which provides services for 3- and 4-year-old students under KERA guidelines, consists of Head Start, Prekindergarten, Jumpstart and (ECE) classrooms. Students are enrolled in the Early Childhood Program based upon income eligibility or identification of a disability.
Our FMD (Functional Mental Disabilities) Program serves students (ages 5 - 21) who have moderate to severe disabilities and who need a specialized program that is more flexible than what is available in other JCPS settings. Many students have medical needs requiring a nurse to be on site. Students receive instruction based on core content with adaptations to meet individual needs as specified on Individual Education Plans. In addition, the FMD program offers students an adaptive program that emphasizes functional life skills. We offer Community-based Instruction (CBI), Other Work Experience (OWE), field trips, a sensory room, therapeutic swimming pool, bowling alley, scouting, Special Olympics, basketball, and a new adaptive playground.
Other programs that are housed at Churchill Park are the ECE Materials Center and the ECE Technology Center.
