The focus of this newspaper is to encourage the reading and writing skills of young authors by researching and publishing. The goal is to reinforce the Kentucky Department of Education's Academic Expectation 1.11, 'Students write using appropriate forms, conventions, and styles to communicate ideas and information to different audiences for different purposes.'
Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Must maintain a 3.0 grade point average. All students must be interested in journalism, and in writing at least one article per issue
All year; meetings for each publication are held once a week from Fall to Spring.
