Junior Beta Club

Noe's academic honor society is open to recommended students who maintain a 3.5 grade-point average and good conduct and perform at least 30 hours of community service for eighth graders and 24 hours of community of service for seventh graders each school year. Students are selected after the sixth grade. With over 220 members, the Beta Club's goal is to instill in students model leadership abilities through community service.

You must be in good standing (3.5 GPA and required service hours) in order to participate in this activity. Deadlines cannot be extended for any circumstances.

Activities include: Service projects within the school, KYA, KUNA, and community service projects for non-profit organizations.

Requirements

Students must be in 7th or 8th grade and maintain a 3.5 grade point average. Eighth grade students are required to perform 30 hours and seventh grade students are required to perform 24 hours of community service. Students should check the Beta Club JCPS Online course for opportunities for community service. You can click here to enter the site, but you will see more information by logging onto JCPS Online.

Service Hour Requirements

Hours are due by the 7th of each month (no exception) for the previous month. An example is October hours are due November 7th. The signed work completion forms are to be placed in the folder inside Ms. Woods room on 6 Explorers, Room 206A.

Service Hour Opportunities

Students can earn service hours doing any type of service for a non-profit organization. You may not earn hours for bringing in items. Working the fall festival, helping in Family Reading night, recycling, and tutoring in Academic Success are also options.
