MISSION

The mission of the Noe Middle School Library program is to focus on the success of all students by providing the resources to support instruction, teach information literacy and promote reading and learning in a student-centered environment.

CHECKOUT/CIRCULATION POLICY - Faculty

  • Books may be checked out for 28 days.
  • Reference books may be checked out for 2 days. The older encyclopedias on carts may be kept longer.
  • Audio-visual materials are checked out for 2 days. Video's and DVD’s are stored on the lower level of the library. All other A-V materials are on the upper level. Videos and DVD's must be approved by Mrs. Staples before viewing.
  • A-V Equipment and bulbs are checked out on the upper level of the library. Some equipment (i.e. VCR's , DVD players and Overhead projectors) may be checked out for the school year.)

CHECKOUT/CIRCULATION POLICY - Students

  • Students need the library barcode in their agenda to check out books.
  • 2 books may be checked out for 2 weeks.
  • Books may be renewed as many times as needed unless someone else has requested that book.
  • Students from first floor teams should check in and out on the lower level of the library. Students on 2nd floor teams should check in and out on the upper level of the library.
  • Books may not be checked out if you have an overdue book, a fine over $1, or a fine over a month old. If you have a fine of less than $1 and less than a month old, one book may be checked out.
  • Fines are 5 cents per book per day. The maximum fine is $3.
  • When possible we will charge the amount paid for lost books. When the amount is not known the average price for a hardcover book $17 or paperback $5 will be charged.
  • The fine for damaged books which are still usable (ie. labels have been pulled off or marks have been made on the pages etc.) is $3. If the book is unusable, the cost is the same as a lost book.
  • You are responsible for the book from the minute you check it out until the book is returned. Do not let a friend check out a book in your name or leave your books out on the desks. If the book is lost, stolen or damaged, you are responsible for the amount due.
  • Magazines may be checked out overnight only.
