Future Educators Association

Future Educators Association (FEA) is an international organization which allows students an avenue to explore the field of education as a career option. On a district level, FEA provides an exploratory venue for minority students in order to increase the pool of minority educators in Kentucky.

The primary objective of FEA is to provide middle and high school students with opportunities to explore teaching/education as a career option. This program helps students gain an understanding of the multi-faceted nature of the education field and the role of the teacher.

JCPS now has over 20 high school and 12 middle school chapters associated with the international FEA, as well as local and state MTRP (Multi-Cultural Teacher Recruitment Project) affiliations.

This extensive program presents our students with opportunities to excel individually and as a collaborative unit. Various competitive opportunities are extended on local, district, state and national levels. The students are exposed to events which allow them to excel in their academics, public speaking, leadership, technological, and artistic arenas.

The Noe Middle School FEA membership is comprised of returning and newly recruited students from our current student body. Their primary responsibilities are to attend and participate in regularly scheduled meetings, in-school activities, conferences, and extended group endeavors throughout the school year.

Each member and parent(s)/guardian(s) are in agreement with the rules and expectations of the program. An annual fee of $20 is collected from each member to help offset supplies and other necessitites related to various activities and competitions.

For the past three years the Noe FEA was the only JCPS middle school chapter to apply for and earn recognition from the National FEA as an HONOR SOCIETY in lieu of our groups' overall grade-point average and group efforts. Our chapter was also recognized for earning various other awards and recognitions on the district, state, and national levels.
