Technology at Carrithers
• Carrithers houses a state-of-the-art Technology Education One Lab where students study communications, biotechnology, transportation, manufacturing, and preengineering through PLTW-Gateway to Technology. The lab reinforces computer skills that prepare students to compete effectively in our rapidly changing technological environment and the prepare them for careers in the fields of engineering.

• Carrithers is one of only two middle schools in Jefferson County to participate in Panasonic's Kids Witness News, a television news program produced by students as part of their communications studies.

• All students have ready access to computers available in the Media Center, two labs, the tech room and in most classrooms.

• The school's 3 fully wired computer labs enable entire classes to complete activities using word processing, the Internet, and SuccessMaker materials.

• Students work on keyboarding skills as they work in the labs.

TIP laptops provide 32 computers to use in the math and science classrooms.
