Brown School
Highlights:
- Serves as a districtwide Self-Directed Learning Magnet School
- Serves about 650 elementary, middle, and high school students in the same building
- Provides a pre-Advanced Placement Curriculum using the College Board’s SpringBoard program in math and language arts
- Offers a Science Camp for seventh graders and a social studies trip to Washington, D.C., for eighth graders
- Provides monthly field study investigations at the Blackacre State Nature Preserve in eighth-grade science classes
- Serves as a districtwide Self-Directed Learning Magnet School
- Courses in English and math are aligned to College Board Standards with the official Pre-Advanced Placement Curriculum, SpringBoard.
- Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available to students in grades nine through twelve.
- Recognizes, respects, and fosters the unique potential of each student in an informal environment that reflects the diversity of our community
- Students are expected to possess time-management and decision-making skills in order to thrive in a less-structured environment.
- Dual-credit courses are available through Bellarmine University’s Advanced College Credit for Exceptional
