PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
9th - 0 to 4.99 credits
10th - 5 to 10.99 credits
11th - 11 to 15.99 credits
12th - 16 to 22+ credits
Honors Program classes are the medium between the Regular classes and the Advanced classes available to students. To graduate with honors there are a few requirements: All classes taken are Honors level or above. At least one (1) year of a technology class. Two (2) years of the SAME world language Maintain a 2.5 GPA
To qualify for the JCPS Advanced Program you must pass the Advanced Program test, good GPA and teacher evaluations. Also included in this program are required courses that aren't required in the minimum graduation requirements. At least twelve (12) courses at the Advanced level in math, science, social studies, english, world language and humanities. At least three (3) years of the same world language or two (2) years of two (2) different world languages. Advanced Placement (AP) courses that are approved by College Board also can take place of any advanced course in the same areas. HONORS PROGRAM Advanced Placement (AP) courses are approved by College Board for students to have a chance to earn college credits while in high school. The mandatory AP exam will be taken in may and there is a fee for EACH exam. AP COURSES ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS IN THE JCPS ADVANCED PROGRAM.
