
Valley High School Uniform Dress Policy
IF CLOTHING IS NOT ON THE LIST, DO NOT WEAR IT!
Sweatshirts, T-Shirts, Polo Shirts, Oxford Shirts and Zip-up Jackets
Shirts
- Only T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, and oxford shirts purchased at Valley may be worn. No other shirts allowed.
- All school-sponsored and approved activity/athletic shirts may be worn.
- There will be no writing or graffiti on any shirt.
- Undershirts may be any plain color.
- Shirts cannot be worn inside out.
- All shirts must be completely on the student. No shirts around the neck.
- No logos on clothing other than Valley High School logos.
- No midriff shirts will be allowed.
Pants
- All pants cannot have noticeable cuts and holes or inappropriate print on any part of the pants.
- No overalls or leather pants.
- Pants and shorts must be worn at waist level. Undergarments should not be visable. NO SAGGING!
- Sagging will be treated as indecent exposure and can result in suspension.
- No cut-off shorts. All shorts must have a hem and be knee length. Skirt length must be knee length.
- No chains or buckles should be attached to pants.
Dress Code Requirements
- Dress code applies from 7:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
- Only school sponsored/letterman jackets may be worn during school. All other jackets including all non-school purchased zip-up style jackets should be put in a locker.
- Any article that is inappropriate or disruptive to the educational process is not allowed. This includes hats, headbands, combs/picks, hair curlers, scarves, bandannas, gloves, sunglasses, house shoes, or any piercing that is disruptive to the educational process.
- Undergarments must be worn when their absence is obvious.
Dress Code Violations
Students will be sent to the assistant principals when offenses occur. A uniform file will be kept for each student. A clear understanding of and adherence to the policy should keep offenses and punishments to a minimum.
