About.com Secondary Lesson Plans This site offers information on 450 poets and 1200 poems. Some are available in audio format. This site has over 7 million documents, photos, maps, films and audio recordings. There are lesson plans, features, activities and tips for using these collections in your classroom. This comprehensive site offers lessons plans for students studying dance, music, theater, and visual arts. You can search for lessons by arts topic, and specific subject area. This site is a general gathering place for arts educators. Lots of educational resources and links. Hosted by the Getty Museum. A simple, free web based calendar that makes it easy for teachers to create class activities and assignment schedules. Students, using a password, can view the calendars. Ben's Guide to American Government for Kids This guide provides learning tools for students, parents, and teachers. These resources teach how the government works, the use of the primary source materials of GPO access and how one can use GPO to carry out civic responsibilities. This site offers more than 2000 free texts. There are study guides and reference resources. It also includes information about food allergies and sensitivities and specific health issues and how nutrition pertains to them. This search engine specializes in searching for teacher websites. Smithsonian Education : Teaching Resources Social Studies School Service Online Activities S.O.S. for Information Literacy This web-based multi media resource can be used to enhance the teaching of information literacy and skills and promotes collaboration. There are previewed lesson plans and best practice video clips. This site offers interactive resources for information skills lessons. This easy to use calendar is designed specifically for classroom teachers. Registration is required, but the site is free. You can create, edit and web publish class calendars. The e-calendar comes in daily, weekly or monthly views. It offers information for several different years for any given date. Tom March's New Best Webquests This site is for Jefferson County public School Teachers and has audio, video and graphics. You may search by topic or subject. You do have to register. See Mrs. Reinhardt for the initial registration numbers. An excellent site! Many different sources and resources for the english teacher. World Mythology: Myths and Legends Visit the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and look at this great collection of images from Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and China. There is a glossary, teacher lessons, curriculum and other information. This collection was started by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of html and the Web itself. It is run by volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert. |
