School Profile

Louisville Male High School’s mission is to create proficient, lifelong learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and communicators, with a uniquely structured environment emphasizing student success, discipline, patriotism, and traditional values. The program features high academic standards for all students, a value-added learning environment stressing citizenship, character, and exemplary attendance, and a requirement for parent commitment and involvement. The Traditional Program emphasizes mastery of the basics, and it requires each student to declare an academic major in either English, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, foreign language, business, or Army JROTC. Excel courses offer an accelerated program for high-functioning students, including Advanced-Placement curriculum for juniors and seniors, and several college-credit courses also are available. Louisville Male High School has scored the highest score among high schools in the state assessment for three of the last four years; it has been nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School twice in the last eight years; and it continues to send nearly 90 percent of its graduates to college.
