SADD 1Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), is a group of close-knit students who are concerned about safety. They are the students that take care of the blood drives at Eastern High School. Don’t let the name fool you though, SADD is very happy group.

The members schedule the Red Cross nurses and doctors to come in to help set up. They volunteer their lunch periods to sign people up to give blood. Sixty pints, or the equivalant of 48 Mt. Dew soft drinks, is the amount of blood that SADD collected at their Fall Blood Drive.

On the day of the Blood Drive , they volunteer out of their busy schedule to help by checking people in, helping people get through the process of giving blood, and then finally helping them to the food section or “cantina.” At the cantina the volunteers that gave blood get to snack on food in order to gain back their energy.
