School Profile

Carter offers the Traditional Program for a more structured learning environment, including established discipline and dress codes and monitored homework assignments. As a Health Promotion School of Excellence, emphasis is placed on teaching children to lead healthy lives. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in the Parent-Teacher Association and the School-Based Decision Making Council, which has input in everything, even the school’s budget! Carter has before- and after-school child-care services for working parents. There is also a Family Resource Center to provide additional support for students and their families, and Extended School Services to provide enrichment classes and tutoring after school..
