School Profile

Bowen Elementary is a comprehensive school offering students a wide variety of educational opportunities in a structured learning environment. Recently named a Health Promotion School of Excellence, Bowen strives to enrich the academic, social and physical life of each student. All students are offered special area instruction in Art, Music, Technology, Physical Education and Hands-On Science. Extra curricular activities such as Band, Orchestra, Safety Patrol and Judges' Cup Academic Competition help build student skills and self esteem. Bowen features the latest in computer technology with multiple computer stations in every classroom and in the school's fully equipped computer lab. Monitored internet access is available throughout the school. Bowen's Family Resource Center matches students with successful community role models through a program called Business Buddies. The Family Resource Center and Bowen's award winning PTA team to produce monthly Family Fun Nights to be enjoyed by the entire school community. The school offers before and after school child care through the YMCA. And, parents can have a say in their child's education as members of the School Based Decision Making Council (SBDM).
