Bates Elementary School

School Profile
Batesa Health Promotion School of Excellence and a member of the Comprehensive School Health Education Projectconcentrates on the safety and well-being of students. The Health and Fitness Program teaches students how to stay in good shape. Bates, situated on a wooded, 15-acre campus, is also the home of Safety City, a place seven- and eight-year-olds visit to participate in police-directed safety instruction. Students participate in the Accelerated Reader Program, enhancing reading and technology skills. Bates offers Extended School Services, the Childcare Enrichment Program with the YMCA, and a Family Resource Center. Parents are encouraged to learn more about the school through the School-Based Decision Making Council.
