Newsletter Club
The Thundercat Newsletter Club members are the primary reports on the school newsletter, The Thundercat Chronicles, which is published four times a year. They collaborate together to brainstorm ideas for the newsletter. Then the student journalists use their research and communication skills to complete their assigned articles for the deadline. Research may take the form of interviewing teachers, students, and/or parents, calling organizations for information, looking at various forms of media from the Internet, newspapers, etc., and conducting surveys. Each piece is taken through the writing process, and students must develop leads, create catchy titles, and have audience awareness. Published newsletters are sent home with all students and to various community organizations.
