STLP
The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) at Whitney Young consists of students in all grade levels. The younger students are leaders during computer time in the lab and help the other students. They also learn how to take care of the computer lab by logging in/out, shutting down computers, cleaning the keyboards and mice, and other basic problem solving skills. The older students problem-solve technological issues all over the building. This may consist of moving computers and setting them back up, helping teachers with different projects/programs, and other projects we decide to tackle. Students explore the technology that other students may not get the opportunity to use. They take pictures for various things. Two fourth grade students go to STLP camp every year. The most recent camp was about Podcasting and was held at the University of Louisville.
