Welcome to Wilder's web-site. I am happy to welcome you and your family to Wilder Elementary School. Ours is a growing school that has been providing quality education to the surrounding community for more than 50 years. Our experienced staff of teachers is dedicated to providing every child with the best educational opportunity possible.
Wilder provides a strong academic program within a safe and orderly learning environment. As you travel the hallways and visit the classrooms, you will be amazed at the caring atmosphere, smiling, friendly faces of staff members, parents volunteering in the school and, most importantly, the happy faces of our students. This promotes in each child an attitude of self-respect.
Parents, we feel, are our partner in the important job of educating the children of Wilder. Please feel free to stop by to visit the school located on our large campus in eastern Jefferson County. No appointment necessary, just sign in at the office and we will guide you through the wonderful world of Wilder!

Wilder Wildcat Keys to Success:
|
It is a school-wide program to make our students more aware of the skills needed for lifetime success.
These are skills that all of us need to use daily in order to be productive citizens in our community. The Wilder community is where we feel these skills can be reinforced. Each month we will have themes and skills which will be reinforced in the classroom, through our weekly telecasts. At the end of the month a student will be selected from each homeroom that best exemplifies the theme for that month.
The students will be honored with breakfast and their name and picture on the wall in the Wilder Student of the Month Hallway. The student representative will also be introduced and appear on WWOA. The monthly themes are identified below:
Wisdom, education, and knowledge - September
I ntegrity and honesty - October
L ove, brotherhood, and friendship - November
D etermination, initiative, and persistence - December
C hoices, courtesy, and citizenship - January
A ttitude and respect - February
T olerance and diversity - March
S uccess, self-worth, and self-responsibility - April
We need the help of all of our parents in using these skills/themes in daily conversations with your children. For example, if your child picks up their toys without being asked, use the word "initiative". "Thank you for showing initiative in cleaning your room. I didn't have to remind you!"
If we all use this common language at home and at school, our students will begin to use that language in their daily lives.
