School Profile

Henry Watterson Elementary School provides a safe environment that instills mutual respect and empowers all to become responsible learners. As a Project C.A.R.E. (Character Actualization Requires Education) school, Watterson focuses on building a caring, learning environment for all students. Our school motto, "Inspiring Great Minds to Succeed," is realized through powerful learning activities and differentiated instruction. Parents, staff members, and members of the community all work together to ensure student success through being actively involved in our students' education. Watterson offers many opportunities including an Early Childhood Program; a Primary Program; an Advance Program; daytime and after-school ESS; Spanish; Orchestra and Band; Young Authors; Quick Recall and Problem-Solving Teams; a before-and-after-school YMCA CEP; The Helping Hearts and Hands Family Resource Center; Family Nights, SBDM Council and committees, and a variety of enriching, content-oriented field trips.
