All About Summer Camp
by Shelby
On the first day I was so excited! When we got there, there were posters on the wall of what might be on and in the water and land. When every body got there we learned how to use a digital camera. Then they gave us a paddle and we started on the Salt River. When we got on the river I saw a lot of cool things. When I was rowing the boat I noticed something at the corner of my eye. It was a squirrel! I grabbed my camera and took a picture. I was so excited. After we ate lunch we went through a little slit in the river. Then I saw 3 beavers jump into the river. I also saw a snake, fish, and frog. The 2nd day we did all the technical stuff. I learned that voice was very important. So I put voice in it. After that I went to go eat lunch. After that I went to go upstairs and got on the computer. When we were upstairs we went on the internet. I even got to show the class a website. At the end of the day we got to show our movies in front of everybody. That is what happened at summer camp. |

Our Field Trip To A Nursing Home (spring 2004)
We took 3 separate trips to a local nursing home with 6-7 STLP students in each group. The students designed cards to take and we brought candy as well to give to the residents. The students thoroughly enjoyed the visits as much as the residents, if not more! The students were even willing to sing a few songs. We gave gave lots of hugs and enjoyed our conversations with the residents. No doubt this will be a yearly event for us! |
